Missing your period and other pregnancy symptoms don't necessarily mean that you are pregnant. Other factors, such as lifestyle, diet, exercise and even some medications, can trigger a late or missed period.

A pregnancy test will show positive, when the HCG hormone is found in urine. This hormone increases daily as soon as you conceive. Approximately 14-21 days after conception, there is enough HCG hormone to show positive on a pregnancy test.
